Salaries start at around $40000 a year. I think that's the tricky part - letting the parents know there is actually a long term career in making games. You just wouldn't have been taken seriously a few years ago. The computer game industry now is actually bigger than the Hollywood box office. Computer games and aviation are the two new boom industries in Brisbane but because of the skills shortage there are plenty of other professions where bosses are screaming out for good staff.
